This helps since if something bad happens you can load the save then get back to where u were in under a minute. You can also use either scram drives or atomic thrusters (loot from cruisers) or both to jump before you are attacked.Ĭontrol: there’s a toggle for fast mode which makes the game run much faster, I believe its capslock but I may be wrong. Run away: there is no reason to fight any of the roaming fleets as they have no impact on the storyline, therefore if you jump into a system with enemies, you can simply hit ‘g’ to make ur fleet follow you then hold straight until you exit their chasing distance. Go ahead and land on a planet then hit i->select everything but falcons->park. The skiens (especially fighters), star queen, and haulers are way to squishy and you will often jump through systems just to realize you lost a ship. I would park your entire fleet other than the falcons. It also unlocks a lot of future stories and is a good story in and of itself. Yeah, I would say its worth it, it unlocks a bunch of human tech (dreadnaughts, electro turrets, nukes and shield matrixes if you choose syndicate side. So seriously, can someone please convince me to keep going with this story line?īonus question: if no one can convince me to continue this story line, is there anyway to remove myself from the Free Worlds (either in game or editing the config)? Because I would like to avoid starting over if I can, even if it means I have to give up my Skeins and my experimental weapons (plasma turrets, flamethrowers, etc.) But it seems that when I enter a system or launch from a planet, there is either no one, or the entire goddamn Republic fleet. The Haulers and the Star Queen are just loaded with anti-missile, but all the other ships are heavily armed. And it isn't like I am flying a small fleet! I have a Protector (my flagship), three Falcons, eight fully loaded Skeins, a couple of Hauler IIIs and a Star Queen. Is it worth it to join the free worlds? Because ever since I have joined, the game has become beyond frustrating, where I can't travel through neutral space (and sometimes even through Free Worlds space) because the Republic fleets there have me way outgunned.
